These gardens are particularly noteworthy. The Victorian Palm House is renowned and has a great collection of large tropical plants growing in what is an authentic reproduction of their natural environment. The Fernery or Tropical Ravine is a sunken section which can be viewed from an observation balcony. In the outdoor gardens the herbaceous borders are attractive as are the colourful rose gardens that thrive in the moist Irish air.

Stormont Park
When exploring the Parliament Buildings in Belfast, visitors can walk from the main gates to the statue of Carson in Stormont Park. The park is open to the public until 7:30 and features a manicured glen and a children's playground.

From the top of Cave Hill one is treated to views of Belfast city, the Isle of Man and on a clear day, Scotland. The park features archaeological sites, a playground and the famed Belfast Castle. It is said that Jonathan Swift novel Gulliver's Travels was inspired by these hills.
